About Talos Auditor
Talos Auditor is a privacy-first AI cost analytics platform for engineering teams using Claude Code, Cursor, and the Hugging Face Inference API. A local agent tails log files on each developer's machine, redacts content per the team's privacy mode, and uploads metadata to a Cloudflare-edge API. Prompt text never leaves the machine in the default privacy mode. Launch scope covers Claude Code, Cursor, and Hugging Face. GitHub Copilot, GitHub App (per-PR costs), Linear, and self-hosted deployments are on the post-launch roadmap; Jira, Notion, and Microsoft Teams are not planned.
Three privacy modes are the product's core differentiator. Off (default): token counts and metadata only, no prompt text ever uploaded. Categorize: either Cloudflare edge Haiku classifies the prompt and discards the raw text, OR a developer-local Ollama instance runs llama3.1:8b so nothing ever leaves the machine. Full: complete prompt and completion archived, only with team admin opt-in. Admins pick the team-wide mode; developers can always fall back to local Ollama.
Built on Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2, Queues, and Workflows. Clerk handles authentication (browser device-code OAuth for the CLI). Stripe for billing. Resend for transactional email. The agent outbox is AES-256-GCM encrypted with the key held in the OS keychain (macOS Keychain, Linux libsecret). Dashboard built with Next.js 15.
Pricing: Trial (14 days free, 5 seats). Pro ($15 per seat per month, up to 50 seats, includes Slack integration and 365-day retention). Enterprise (custom pricing, adds SSO via SAML/SCIM, SOC 2 paperwork, priority support). First 100 waitlist members lock Pro at $9 per seat per month permanently. Phase 1 skeleton deployed; private beta late April 2026 with 5-10 invited teams; public GA May/June 2026.
Install: curl -fsSL https://auditor.talosfoundrix.com/install.sh | sh, then talos-auditor login. The agent runs as a daemon via launchd (macOS) or systemd (Linux). The VS Code + Cursor extension is a single package published to both the VS Code Marketplace and Open VSX, installed via talos-auditor install-extension. The extension reuses the CLI agent token — one sign-in, two tools. Status bar format: $2.31 · 12 req.
Cost savings estimate: ~35% average on Opus-heavy teams, based on Cloud FinOps benchmarks and Helicone public data. This is a pre-launch theoretical model; observed numbers will be published after private beta.
